Mini Tornado In Penang Causes Mini Buzz On Social Media

Our small island of Penang is slowly becoming a hotbed for strange activities.

On Tuesday, drivers on the Penang Bridge were stunned when they spotted a mini tornado swirling near the Bridge.

According to a report by Astro Awani, the incident took place at around 6pm - right smack in the middle of rush hour traffic. Hey, free entertainment for those poor souls who were stuck in the jam.

The news site also reported that several areas in Penang such as Butterworth and Perai experienced super heavy downpour since 5pm.

Of course, living in the age of smartphones and unlimited data (nope, this is not an advertisement for U-Mobile), many bridge commuters took the opportunity to record videos of the little whirlwind and upload them on social media.

Earlier this month, Penangites were stunned when a Chinook helicopter, which was made in the 1950s, was captured on camera flying very low near the Penang bridge.
