Is it just us, or does it feel like we've been under lockdown for forever now?

We were doing so well in the beginning, but things seem to have spiralled downwards recently.

Ever-changing SOPs don't appear to be helping either but it looks like this is something that we will all just have to get used to.

Relaxed regulations soon?

The latest change could be relaxed regulations under MCO 3.0 (which was initially dubbed as a "total lockdown") once infections drop to below 4,000 cases.

According to a Bernama report, Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the targeted figure was set by the Ministry of Health (MOH).

Authorities to detemine if rules should be relaxed

“I have been informed by Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba and its director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah that when the cases are down to 4,000, we will review the MCO. It does not mean we will end the MCO but may review the SOPs to determine which ones can be relaxed a bit.

“However, the MOH will see and advise the National Security Council (MKN) at its (coming) special meeting to see what we can do when the infection level goes down to 4,000 cases or below. We do not promise to end it or anything else, but just getting advice," he said.

Towards herd immunity.

He added that the main target now was to achieve herd immunity.

We're slightly nervous about this announcement.

The last thing any of us want is for the numbers to rise again.

4,000 still seems like quite a significant sum, but all we can do is leave it to the experts to decide and hope they make the best decision for the country.
