Are you one of those people that don't use your Touch n Go (TnG) card at parking lots because you don't want to pay the surcharge?

There's good news for you (and for every other TnG user too lah).

TnG surcharge to be a thing of the past soon.

Almost all TnG sites in the country have gotten rid of that pesky surcharge now.

Yeay!

Surcharge-free soon

According to a report by Paultan.org, TnG Group CEO Effendy Shahul Hamid said that 620 out of 662 TnG sites in the country have no surcharge now.

That basically means that over 93 per cent of TnG sites are surcharge-free!

The surcharge, which is usually about 10 per cent or so, is due to contractual obligations between TnG and the car park operators.

Coming to an agreement on the surcharge.

In an earlier report by The Star in January, Effendy was quoted as saying that all TnG surcharges would be removed by the end of the first quarter of this year.

"It requires innovation and some sacrifice on our side, but I think it’s the right thing to do.

"Basically, we’ve been able to convince our parking operator partners and ensure the surcharge is removed by the end of the first quarter,” he was quoted as saying.

Hopefully all goes well and we, the users, get to save some money.
