M'sian Father in Viral Ombak KLCC Incident Files Police Report, Claims Woman Pushed & Hit His Two Children

Over the weekend, a video showing a heated altercation between a man and a woman at a shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur went viral online.

The incident reportedly took place at Ombak KLCC on Saturday (31 October). In the video, a man dressed in a black shirt can be seen arguing with a Chinese woman wearing a yellow tank top.

The situation later escalated when the woman slapped the man across the face. The man then retaliated, causing the woman to fall to the ground.

The incident quickly sparked debate online, with some social media users calling the man "dayus" for striking a woman.

However, it now appears there may be more to the story.

The woman allegedly pushed and hit the man's children without provocation

Dang Wangi District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Azwan Amin Nordin said police received a report from the man involved in the viral incident at 7:39 PM on the same day.

According to the report, the 36-year-old man had been walking through the mall with his two children, aged two and seven, when an unknown woman allegedly pushed his son from behind, causing the child to fall.

The woman also allegedly struck the back of his daughter's head.

And it turns out, the children may not have been the only victims

In the comments section of the viral post, a social media user alleged that the same woman had also assaulted her friend earlier that day.

The user, identified by the username @sakinahzuhairi, claimed that she and her friend were walking towards Don Kai restaurant in the mall when the woman in the yellow tank top suddenly slapped her friend across the face before immediately walking away.

"We were shocked and called a security guard before chasing after her. By the time we reached the escalator area, there was already a crowd because the same woman had allegedly hit a man's child and was trying to leave. She then started shouting and playing the victim. That's why the man became angry."

The user also defended the man, claiming he only reacted after the woman allegedly struck his two-year-old child, who was seated in a stroller, causing the child to fall out.

"At first, she pushed one of the man's children from behind. The child cried after falling to the ground. The man then confronted the woman, and perhaps he initially thought it was an accident because he didn't witness what happened."

She added, "Then she started pushing the man's other child, who was sitting in a stroller. The two-year-old fell out of the stroller. What father wouldn't be angry if someone did that to their children? Would you stay silent if this happened to you?"
