M'sian Influencer Issues Public Apology Over Viral Chicken Bone Video, Says It Was Staged
Recently, a Malaysian content creator sparked outrage among netizens after posting a video that showed a homeless man receiving rice and chicken bones as a meal.
In a now-deleted video, the influencer known by his username @aluk_77—and two others were seen recording themselves enjoying a meal at a well-known fast food chain. After finishing, they decided to "donate" the chicken bones to someone in need in an effort to "reduce wastage."

The video then showed the trio approaching a homeless man and handing him a package containing rice and chicken bones.
Unsurprisingly, the video drew harsh criticism from many who slammed the trio’s actions as insensitive. Some social media users even urged authorities to investigate the group.
“It was a collusion for the means of making a video.”
Following the backlash, @aluk_77 posted a video issuing a public apology to Malaysians. He clarified that the video was staged and that the homeless man was aware of the plan.
“At the beginning, we followed the homeless man. It was a collaboration, and he agreed to act with us.”

The influencer also explained that he and his friends had given the homeless man a complete meal consisting of two pieces of fried chicken and a serving of rice.
He reiterated that the chicken bones with rice were used solely for content purposes and were not given to the homeless man to eat.
He went on to say that the original intention of the video was to encourage charitable acts. However, he admitted that the execution was poor, which led to a failure in conveying the full context.
“We didn't expect it to blow up like this. That's our fault, and we're sorry. Please give us another chance to give back to society. We will do more good deeds in the future by helping the homeless. I'm really sorry, everyone. I'm sorry.”
