M'sian Teen Suffers Internal Bleeding in Left Eye After Allegedly Being Beaten Up by Classmates
A 15-year-old student was left with internal bleeding in one of his eyes after he was viciously attacked by several classmates while reading a book.
China Press reported that the incident took place at a secondary school in Kuala Muda, Kedah.
According to the school, the victim had just returned to the classroom following an eye examination arranged by the school. While reading a novel, several classmates began bothering him, prompting the teen to switch seats multiple times in an attempt to avoid them.
However, one of the classmates suddenly snatched the novel from the victim. A scuffle ensued before the group began beating the victim until he lost consciousness.
What’s more shocking is that the assault occurred in the presence of a trainee teacher.
In a report by Harian Metro, the victim’s father rushed his son to the hospital, where he was found to be suffering from head pain, vomiting, and a swollen left eye. A doctor later confirmed internal bleeding in the left eye caused by a punch.
The teen is currently under observation. A brain scan and X-ray examination have been scheduled to determine the extent of his injuries.
The victim’s father claimed that the parents of the bullies attempted to seek a settlement
According to him, the parents of the classmates who beat his son allegedly pleaded with him not to pursue the matter.
However, he decided to lodge a police report, stating that he considered the incident a serious matter.
Moreover, the victim’s younger sister, who also attends the same school, claimed her brother had long been a target of bullying. She alleged that the classmates once forcibly pulled down her brother’s pants.
Police are now investigating the case under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt.
