M'sian Uni Student Caught Filming Pregnant Woman in Seremban Mall, Turns Out It's Not His First Time
It's true when people say that danger sometimes hides in plain sight, and for one woman, she was unfortunate to encounter such a problem while on an outing with her family in a mall in Seremban.
In a post on Facebook, the woman that goes by the username Erny Nuryassmien shared a disturbing incident where she caught a young man who had been secretly recording her.
Turns out, she wasn't the man's first and only victim.
Erny said that while on an outing with her family, she had first noticed a young man wearing a yellow shirt who seemed to be following and recording her. At first, she thought nothing of it, but her guard immediately went up when her children also pointed out the same thing.
“I first noticed him when we were walking at the booths outside Mydin Seremban 2. I thought he seemed to be recording but thought nothing of it at first."
"When we went inside, I noticed he was still following us, with his phone upright in a recording position. He followed us everywhere. It was so obvious even my kids started noticing it and told me about it,” she wrote.
Erny decided to confront the man, and lo and behold…
After sharing her suspicion with her husband, they decided to tail the young man. It was then when Erny decided to record the encounter herself as she went to confront the man, but what she discovered that day disgusted her.
“Turns out, there are a couple of videos of me. He even zoomed in on my back. Not only that, he also kept other videos of other pregnant women. Some of them were even wearing a niqab. It seems like he has a fetish for pregnant women.”
The situation escalated quickly after that. Erny shared the young man was so scared when her husband confronted him that he peed himself.
Police report made
After the confrontation, the young man was handed over to the police, and a report was filed.
During the early investigation, it was revealed that the man was only 20 years old and was studying at a local university. He also confessed that he had a habit of secretly recording women to ‘build a collection’ for his own sexual pleasure.
“He said he had been doing this for a long time and had been building ‘a stock’ to pleasure himself at home.”
As of this article, Erny said she hasn't withdrawn the report against the man.
The public’s reaction
Unsurprisingly, Erny's posting on Facebook had since caught the attention of Malaysians. Many applauded Erny's bravery in confronting the suspect and told her to not withdraw her report.
“I think he's a Tumblr guy. This stalking issue had long been talked about. They would upload these photos on Tumblr to share with those who have the same fetish. You're doing great for reporting this. It's better to not let these kids go.”
One user commented, “Don't withdraw your report. Most likely the police will give him a warning and label the case as NFA (No Further Action). But that will stay in his record. So if the same thing happens in the future, when the case is brought to court, he won't be let go with just a slap on the wrist."
"But if you withdraw the report, it would make his record clean as if he had never done anything wrong. Now, it's not just about you and your family but all women and families in Malaysia,” they added.
