Danger can strike at any time, even in a public place surrounded by people. That’s exactly what happened to one woman, who became the victim of a snatch theft in broad daylight.
Sharing her frightening experience as a reminder to others, the woman posted a dashcam video showing the moment a man snatched her bag while she was refueling her car.
According to the woman, known online as Cabi, the incident took place before Chinese New Year on 10 February at a Shell petrol station in Puchong Jaya. In the video, Cabi can be seen fueling her Perodua Axia with her bag strapped to her right shoulder, while a man on a red motorcycle rides past her once.

On his second pass, the rider took the opportunity to grab Cabi’s bag as she was still refueling. The force of the snatch caused her to fall, and the suspect quickly fled the scene.
In the caption, Cabi admitted she had taken her bag out of the car, which contained her phone, wallet, house keys, and car keys.

“Sharing this as a reminder to always be aware of your surroundings, don’t be so blur like me. Hope none of you ever experience this. Please be safe,” she wrote.
Thankfully, a car behind her stopped to help immediately after the incident by lending her a phone and even driving her to a friend’s house.
Police report lodged
A police report has been lodged, but as of this article, Cabi said the thief is still at large.
“For everyone asking, no, the police have not managed to find him yet. On that day, I went back and forth between two different police stations and only got home late at night. It was under investigation, but I haven’t received any updates since then,” she shared on her IG Story.

Despite everything, Cabi shared that she only suffered some bruises on her knees from the fall. She was also able to replace her essential documents and keys fairly quickly.
