M'sians Unite to Assist Wheelchair User Up Stairs After KTM Lift Breaks Down
Can you imagine how hard it is to navigate life as a disabled person? Recently, one wheel-chair bound man stumbled across a problem when the lift at a KTM station went out of order.
In a twist of events, two men decided to band together and help the disabled man by carrying him up the flight of stairs.
In a heartwarming video shared on TikTok, it is understood that the incident happened at KTM Bukit Mertajam. In the video, a technician could be seen trying to fix the lift.

The video has since garnered the attention of many TikTok users. While many praised the kind act of the two men who willingly helped the disabled man, others urged KTM to improve their facilities to ease all passengers.
A user said, “KTM needs to improve their lift. The lift is always out of order, and it's small. The lifts at KTM Ipoh and Arau are the best. The lifts are spacious, fast, and rarely go out of order.”

“Thank you, kind people. This is how our day would go if OKU facilities went out of order. The other day I went to Bukit Bintang and took the LRT. I didn't know there was an OKU facility there. I hope after this the government can add more facilities for OKUs.”
