According to The Star, the late boxing legend Muhammad Ali has received a special appreciation certificate from the Malaysian government in conjunction with the 'Reviving the Islamic Spirit' programme organised by the Malaysian Islamic Missionary Foundation (Yadim) at Putrajaya International Convention Centre.

Accepting the reward on behalf of her father was Muhamad Ali's daughter, Rasheeda Ali. The certificate was presented by Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom in recognition of the service and contributions of her late father.

'The Greatest' last fought in Malaysia at Stadium Merdeka, 1st July 1975. He fought against Joe Bugner and won by unanimous decision in round 15 of 15.
