Frontliners and those involved in essential services are being stretched to the max this COVID-19 season.

One such person is postman Faizal Akmal Mohd Radzi.

Prayers and donations have been pouring in for the Pos Malaysia personnel after he ended up in an accident leading to a coma recently.

According to updates on social media, Faizal could have ended up in the accident due to fatigue because of the steep increase in deliveries.

Someone you can depend on

Facebook user PS Cahaya, who has been dealing with Faizal frequently was one of the first to highlight the tragedy.

"I want to ask everyone to pray for this Abang Posmen that has always helped me pick up deliveries and ensure that it arrives safely, even during the MCO period.

"He is the hero that helped me ensure that all deliveries reached my customers," said PS Cahaya who runs a personal shopping service.

In her post, she said that Faizal had met with an accident last Friday.

"Faizal has a wife and three young children aged 8,7 and 9 months," she said adding that prayers and donations were much welcomed.

Donations poured in

After putting up the post, thousands of people reponded and many donated money to the family.

So many donations came pouring in that the bank had actually blocked Faizal's wife's account due to "suspicious activity".

PS Cahaya later updated that she however managed to visit Faizal's wife to hand her donations personally and also give her some essential items.

COVID-19 free but still in a coma

As for Faizal's condition, he is currently still in a coma.

According to PS Cahaya, doctors also tested him for COVID-19 but he tested negative.

"Faizal has been confirmed to be negative for COVID-19 but no procedure can be done as he is still in a coma," she said while calling for Malaysians to continue to pray for him.

Hopefully Faizal recovers soon.
