During the difficult phase that is the Movement Control Order (MCO), any sort of help, no matter how small, goes a long way.

Knowing this, a petrol station in Shah Alam is doing its part to help the community affected by the move.

Help for the needy

According to a report by Malay Mail, Petron Setia Alam revealed on its Facebook page that it is helping the needy by preparing essentials such as pre-packed rice for free.

“While we have prepared a bit, we are not sure how this will work and if we can continue to be able to purchase rice. We will do our best but cannot promise that it will always be available,” read the post.

The report said cans of sardine were later added to the contribution.

According to the petrol station, they kick started the initiative on 27 March.

Initially, the free items were placed at the cashier's counter, but they were later moved to a table inside the petrol station when the public showed up to donate more items.

The table is now known as the community table, and now includes essential food items such as flour, salt, sugar and milk powder.

Food items for the needy.
The petrol station said those in need can pick up one item per person daily.

If you want to drop off some essential items, head over to the Petron petrol station at Jalan Setia Gemilang U13/47 in Setia Alam, yeah?

Every little help counts.
