People in Negeri Sembilan, Terengganu and Selangor if you guys are looking forward to the Ramadan Bazaars this year, take note of this!

Astro Awani, initially quoted Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun saying that all Ramadan bazaars this year would be cancelled due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

He said the Movement Control Order (MCO) which will is expected to end on April 14 was very close to the fasting month.

Aminuddin said that even if cases went down, opening the Ramandan Bazaar could expose the community to COVID-19 again.

Instead, he advised traders to be more creative by conducting their business from home and use food delivery services to reach customers.

He said the state would be following the footsteps of the Chinese government which still bans movement in Wuhan despite no new cases being recorded there lately.

Several days ago, Terengganu also announced the same and said that Ramadan bazaars would not be allowed.
The latest state to join the boat would be Selangor with The Star quoting Selangor MB Amirudin Shari also announcing the same decision.

“I believe there will be online Ramadan bazaars that will offer delivery,’’ Amirudin said adding that while the MCO would have ended by then, the state would need to wait for further recommendations by the Ministry of Health.

Anyway, yummy food is penting but safety is more penting!

Hopefully the other state governments will decide to go in the same direction too.
