Netizens, Healthcare Workers Angry After Malaysians ‘Stole’ Sanitisers And Masks From Hospitals

As we all know, the COVID-19 situation in our country is rapidly changing from bad to worse, hence the implementation of the Movement Control Order (MCO).

Supplies for essential items such as face masks, hand sanitisers, and anything related to that are running low throughout the country.

Being able to buy them now is considered a luxury, especially after some online sellers are selling it at crazy, fluctuated prices.

But the worst part about this situation is that there are some irresponsible Malaysians who obtained these essentials in the worst way ever – stealing them from hospitals.

Outpour of anger

Over the past few days, healthcare workers have shared, on social media, cases of sanitisers going ‘missing’.

Netizens were angered when they found about this and lamented that the healthcare workers are the ones who need them the most as they are most at risk.

As if these incidents are not bad enough, some of the perpetrators brazenly posted and admitted to taking these items home with them.

Luckily, the Health Ministry has announced that visitors are no longer allowed to visit patients (except emergency cases) following the MCO.

With that, we hope that our healthcare frontliners won’t face such situations again.

To healthcare workers across Malaysia, we thank you for all that you’ve done and sacrificed for the country. You are our heroes!
