If you feel charitable or have extra cash to spare, here’s an excellent way to help out.

Pertubuhan Kesihatan dan Kebajikan Umum Malaysia (PKKUM) has been feeding the underprivileged community in the Chow Kit area since the first Movement Control Order (MCO) came into effect in March 2020.

Malay Mail reported that the Food for All Project initiative has been distributing breakfast, lunch, and dinner to 110 people for more than a year now.

However, the number of people needing food has increased lately.

More people in need

“We often see about 20 extra people lining up for the food, but we can only support 110 packs daily at the moment,” said PKKUM president Elisha Kor Krishnan.

As the initiative has been running on public support, Elisha said more donations are necessary to feed the growing number of underprivileged people.

She revealed the cost of food alone is RM1,650 per day, not including the allowance of the cooks who prepare the meals.
