Over the past month or so, the attention was on one Datuk Seri Nicky Liow.

Just like his fellow criminal Jho Low, the 33-year-old is currently one of Malaysia's most wanted criminals.

While the authorities are still hunting him down, the Pahang Palace has decided to do something about it.

Just Nicky Liow now

On Monday (26 April), the Pahang Palace has decided to strip and revoke the Darjah Kebesaran Darjah Sri Sultan Ahmad Shah Pahang (SSAP) and “Datuk Seri” title from Liow with immediate effect.

On top of that, the Palace has also revoked and stripped the Darjah Indera Mahkota Pahang (DIMP) and datukship of his brother, Liow Wei Loon.

State Secretary Datuk Seri Sallehuddin Ishak told Malay Mail that the revocation was made on the order issued by the Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah ibni Sultan Ahmad Shah.

He was bestowed the title when he was just 27.
As of Monday, the Liow brothers will no longer be allowed to use any titled bestowed upon him previously, Sallehuddin said.

“The nominees must also return the awards to the State Secretary’s Office in line with the Pahang Emblems, Titles or Awards Enactment,” he said in a statement quoted by the news portal.

According to Sallehuddin, the letters of revocation have been sent to the nominees last week, although we have a feeling the Liow brothers will be too busy to check their mail box.

In 2015, eyebrows were raised when the then 27-year-old Liow was bestowed with the 'Datuk Seri' title by the Sultan of Pahang in conjunction with his majesty’s 85th birthday.

Having been named a 'Datuk Seri' at such a young age, many questioned Liow's contributions to the state and country.
