When you have only a small amount of money to spend, the last thing you’d think of is donating a portion of it to the poor.

However, that was exactly what a 20-year-old man from Negri Sembilan did.

Kind-hearted since he was young

According to a report by Bernama, despite not having much, R. Praviin managed to set up two food banks to aid those in need.

Helping others is not a new thing for Praviin, as he has been reportedly doing so by putting away a portion of his pocket money to buy food for the poor since he was 16.

“While schooling, I was given RM20 per week as pocket money by my father, and from that sum, I saved RM13 for the purpose of charity.

“I managed to save RM100 to RM200 a month with which I could only help 10 selected poor families in the district,” he was quoted as saying.

Praviin told the news agency that he was inspired to set up the food banks because he wanted to help a school mate who came from a poor family.

The young man is doing all he can.
Not stopping there, Praviin also took on additional jobs such as washing cars to earn more money for the cause.

“I like to help people. I want to help through education, food and my mission is to make Port Dickson a district with zero hunger among the poor,” he said.

His two food food banks are located at Batu 9 in Teluk Kemang and Taman Mewah, Jalan Pantai.

Praviin currently earns RM1,000 monthly working at his father’s air-conditioning repair shop. From that amount, he uses RM400 monthly for the food banks.
