In his lifetime, Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has won a lot of awards and racked up a tonnes of achievements - including being named in TIME's '100 Most Influential People 2019' list.

He won another award over the weekend; this time for being Instafamous.

Wait, what?

According to a report by The Star Online, the 94-year-old was awarded with the 'Anugerah Instafamous Inspirasi', a special award presented at the Anugerah Instafamous by hurr.tv.

Dr M, in a pre-recorded acceptance speech shown during the event, said the award was given to him for his leadership, dedication, hard work and contribution to the people of Malaysia.

“There is no shortcut to hard work. If I can be a good example, Alhamdulillah. If we love our country, we must be willing to work hard to rebuild our country.

“Today, information and news can be accessed anywhere and quickly with a mobile phone, and anyone can become a ‘broadcasting station’.

"It is important for us to practise responsible behaviour so that information is delivered accurately, correctly and not ‘fake news’. I thank hurr.tv for this special award.”

The report also quoted hurr.tv channel director Datin Elaine Daly as saying that Dr Mahathir is a remarkable individual who has always shown his strength, discipline and determination in providing the best for the people and the nation.

Well, we have no doubt in that! Well done, Dr M!
