In a world where rage against police officers is at an all-time high due to the recent cases in the United States, our abang and kakak polis are still sacrificing their lives to carry out their jobs.

And to keep them safe, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) is currently mulling equipping their police officers with some new tech.

Other initiatives being discussed

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador told Malay Mail that there have been talks to equip police officers with taser guns.

According to IGP Abdul Hamid, the move is to ensure that their police officers do not need to resort to using firearms when dealing with unruly citizens.

The last thing the PDRM wants is to shoot anyone, he said, so using a taser gun may be a safer and less controversial alternative.

Although the idea of equipping their police officers with taser guns is not new, the program didn't really take off because the gadgets were off poor quality.

PDRM wants better taser guns.
“So if possible, PDRM wants to acquire taser guns like those used by the police in America which are durable,” he was further quoted as saying.

On top of that, PDRM is also in the midst of acquiring body cams for police officers on patrol duty, and soon, they hope that they'll be able to equip all their patrol cars with cameras as well.

Well, it looks like PDRM is making sure that our abang and kakak polis are more well equipped.
