PDRM on the Hunt For Man Who Attempted to Film Under a Woman's Dress at Selangor Supermarket
Recently, CCTV footage went viral showing a man who was allegedly trying to film the underskirt of a woman in a local supermarket.
The act was reported to have happened in Jenjarom, Selangor.
Police are actively looking for the suspect
In a statement shared on Facebook, the Kuala Langat District Police confirmed they had received a report from the victim on 9th December.
According to the report, the victim said the man had lifted her dress in an attempt to record her inappropriately.
An investigation paper has been opened under Section 509 of the penal Code, which carries a maximum sentence of 5 years imprisonment, a fine, or both upon conviction.
Additionally, the case falls under Section 14 of the Minor Offenses Act, which provides for a fine not exceeding RM100 or imprisonment if convicted.
In the same statement, the police also asked the public not to speculate as it could interfere with the investigation. Anyone with any information is urged to head to the nearest police station or call the Kuala Langat District Police Headquarters Operation Room at 03-318 72222.
