It’s undeniable that times are hard now and many people are struggling to make ends meet.

A kind clinic pharmacist in Kuala Terengganu understands this and paid for a toddler’s medication as the parents could not afford it.

According to a Twitter thread by Maidatul Baharuddin that has garnered over 21,000 retweets and 26,000 likes, the incident occurred at Pusat Perubatan Intan.

A kind gesture

Miadatul said she took her father to the medical centre as he has kidney stones problem.

While waiting, she overheard the pharmacist telling the toddler’s mother that her kid’s medication and consultation amounted to RM60.

"The woman initially offered to pay using her Kad Sejahtera; an initiative by the Terengganu state government to help the underprivileged with healthcare but unfortunately the clinic was not listed as a chosen panel and was unable to accept the payment."

“Her face changed as she looked at her husband, and she told the pharmacist ‘it’s okay then, I don’t want the medication, I don’t have any money.”

Maidatul said the pharmacist then offered to pay the bill.

“She took the medicine and thanked the pharmacist a few more times before heading back to her husband who was waiting outside,” she said.

Madiatul said she offered to pay the woman’s bill as she was about to pay her father’s bill but the pharmacist insisted on paying child’s bill as she felt sorry for the woman.

“For the pharmacist at the Pusat Perubatan Intan, Kuala Terengganu, I pray that you’ll be blessed with wealth for helping the woman and her child last night!

“Everybody’s struggling right now, and you’re a hero in my eyes!” Maidatul wrote.

We salute the pharmacist for doing the right thing!
