During the festive seasons, it’s almost inevitable that we hear the sound of fireworks. While it is legally permitted to set them off before 12 AM, it is important to practise respect towards others, especially when fireworks are set off near residential areas.
In multiple posts shared on Threads, residents in Cyberjaya expressed their frustration over a group of individuals who allegedly caused a disturbance well into the early morning by setting off fireworks near the neighbourhood.

A man, believed to be a resident of the area, has since confronted the group. In a post, he alleged that the group had set off fireworks in the neighbourhood until approximately 2 to AM.
“Don’t play here. Go somewhere else. Don’t you realise children are trying to sleep? Some of us have to work and wake up early for sahur,” he said in one of the videos.
It is understood that the police were called to the scene to disperse the group. A report has also been lodged following the incident.

The confrontation videos have since garnered attention from other social media users. While some applauded the man for his bravery, others urged him to take precautions, especially since he confronted the group alone.
Meanwhile, several users also alleged that the group would rev their cars as they left the area.
“Thank you for confronting them and taking their pictures. I’ve noticed these cars almost every day. To those involved, your actions have deeply affected the people here. The sound of your car as you revved it, and the fireworks you set off, are extremely loud."
The user shared, "Small children and the elderly often wake up in shock from the noise you make. Please have some respect and common sense, as many have already called you out.”

Another commented, “I live nearby and have been awakened a few times at 2 AM because of them. I can’t go back to sleep as I fear I might miss sahur."
"I’ve been observing them. Not only do they set off fireworks, but they also rev their cars as they leave the area. I’ve recorded some videos and plan to lodge a report if my sleep is disturbed again. Thank you for confronting them.”
