Here we go again.

Air Selangor has announced that there will be an unscheduled water cut involving over one million accounts due to pollution.

In a statement, Air Selangor said that all treatment activities would be halted at the Sungai Selangor Water Treatment Plant Phase 1, Phase 2, Phase 3 and Rantau Panjang because of the pollution of raw water resources.

The pollution was detected at Sungai Selangor at 2am on 19 October.

"As of 6.30am this morning, pollution is still effecting Sungai Selangor at level 1 TON," wrote Air Selangor in a statement.

In the meantime, following the suspension of the four plants, a total of 1,196,457 accounts will experience water cuts.

No word as to when the issue will be solved

The disruption will cover 1,292 areas in Kuala Lumpur, Petaling, Klang,Shah Alam, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Gombak and Kuala Langat.

Air Selangor also said that they were actually in the midst of replacing ruptured pipes involving the same plant, but due to the pollution incident, they would not be able to go ahead with those plans.

Pollution and water cuts.
"Air Selangor will provide additional water supply using tankers to the affected areas with priority given to critical premises such as hospital and dialysis centres.

"Consumers who require emergency water supply including for death arrangements can call 15300.

"Air Selangor fully understands the need for clean water, especially due to the current increase in COVID 19 cases and the implementation of this Conditional Movement Control Order. We are taking all efforts to minimize the impact of interference on affected consumers," they said.

Haih, we just hope they sort this out asap.

In the meantime, hang in there everyone.
