Post 9/11 Violence in US: What We Know So Far
Yesterday, Americans had to relive the terrifying moment of fearing for their lives just one week after the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. Three incidents took place throughout the US, in New York, Minnesota, and New Jersey. No one or any terrorist groups have come forward to claim the attacks so far. Therefore, officials are unable to confirm whether these three attacks are related or if it is linked to terrorism. Here’s what we know so far:
#1 New York Blast Injures 29 People

The explosion rocked the Chelsea neighbourhood at 8:30pm (0030 GMT Sunday) outside 131 West 23rd Street. 29 people have been injured by the explosion and 24 of them have been taken to the hospital for medical attention. Police then discovered a second bombing device which appears to be a pressure cooker just merely four blocks away from the first explosion.#2 Pipe Bomb in New Jersey Disrupts Charity Run
Thousands of people were expected to take part in a 5km Marine Corps charity race, The Seaside Semper Five at 9am in Seaside Park, New Jersey. But due to an unexpected delay, the race was scheduled to take off half an hour later. The bomb detonated at around 9.30am in a trash can causing a lockdown at the area and the cancellation of the charity event. No one was injured by the incident.Look at black can. Hole in side. “Because of that delay there probably would have been a good number of people running past that trash can when it went off,” Ocean County Prosecutor’s spokesperson Al Della Fave told News 12 in an interview aired on CNN.
#3 Nine People Were Stabbed at a Minnesota Shopping Mall

A man who was dressed in a security guard uniform attacked unsuspecting shoppers with a knife at a shopping mall in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Nine of the victims suffered non-life threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital immediately. The attacker was later shot dead by an off-duty cop. ISIS has claimed responsibility for the knife attack but remained silent on the other two bombing incidents. Police are investigating the case and looking into their claims. #4 No Malaysians Were Involved in New York Bombing

The Foreign Ministry confirmed that there were no Malaysians involved in the incident. "The ministry, through the Consulate General of Malaysia in New York, will continue to monitor the situation accordingly," it said in a statement. Malaysians who are currently in New York may reach the Consulate General of Malaysia in New York should they require any assistance.Must-Watch Video
