If we're talking about Malaysians and charity work, the name that probably comes to mind is preacher Ebit Lew.

Lew has been doing tonnes of charity work over the past few months to help those in need.

And he's not stopping there, because he's close to launching his own chain of convenience stores.

Giving back to the community

The celebrity preacher made the announcement via a post on his Facebook page on Tuesday (23 June):

According to Lew, renovation works are currently being carried out at his convenience stores called ElewsMart.

Lew said he decided to open his own chain of ElewsMart as a way to "give back to the community".

He said in the post that he got the motivation to help more people after he successfully distributed three trucks filled with food to the needy in just three days.

“I kept thinking of ways to help these people even though just by a little but in a continuous manner.”

“I want to help everyone despite their race and religion,” he was further quoted as saying.

Coming soon to a town near you.
At the moment, there will be ten ElewsMart branches all around the Klang Valley, and you can find them at Kajang, Bandar Baru Bangi, Sungai Buloh, Cheras, Balakong, Cyberjaya, Damansara, Shah Alam, Subang Perdana and Prima Gombak.

If all goes well, the branches will open their doors by mid-July, Lew said.

Food banks and job opportunities

On top of making sure that the prices of the items in ElewsMart are reasonably priced, Lew revealed that he also plans to open up food banks in his convenience stores to help those in need.

Looking for a job? Ebit Lew wants you to join him.
Not only that, Lew is currently looking for 100 people to join the ElewsMart team as branch manager, assistant manager, marketing officer, supervisor and retail staff for all ten of his branches.

If you've recently been laid off or you know someone who was, you can submit your resume to [email protected].

Thank you, Ebit Lew, for always finding the heart to help those in need.
