Prices on Apple iTunes and App Store Will Soon Be in Ringgit

Apple has finally decided to cut Malaysians some slack and convert its prices on iTunes and App Store from US dollars to Ringgit. Hurray! Now you can stop cringing at the currency exchange rate before you think about buying some extra gold bars for your Candy Crush game, or that new Taylor Swift song.

Apple recently sent out an email to notify its users about this switch. The company also informed that this change will happen automatically and users won’t have to do anything. If you have pre-ordered anything or subscribed to any subscription service, you’ll also be charged in Ringgit.

However, Apple has yet to announce the exact date when this conversion will take place. This announcement also pose a few questions: Does switching to Ringgit mean that Apple users in Malaysia will enjoy a fixed rate? Or will the prices fluctuate based on the currency exchange rate? Also, does this mean that Apple Pay will reach Malaysian shores soon?

We’ll just have to wait and see to find out. Until then, hold your horses and don’t make that in-app purchase just yet until the switch happens!
