If you're a primary school student (which we highly doubt) or you have a kid in primary school, there's some really good news for you.

The government has announced that all 2.7 million of them are set to enjoy free breakfast in their schools beginning January next year.

According to a report by The Star quoting Education Minister Dr Maszlee Malik, the officials are currently surveying the types of food to be served.

In a Facebook posting, Maszlee said that our children need proper and balanced nutrition schedules to stay healthy and active while focusing on their studies.

He said as such, the ministry, concerned about the student’s nutritional aspects, is constantly mobilising various initiatives to provide them with nutritious food.
On top of that, the school children would also be taught about proper eating habits and discipline.

The breakfast programme is an addition to the ministry’s milk menu included in the Supplementary Food Programme (RMT), which began on 10 June.

Hopefully, the free food they are going to serve is not nasi lemak or roti canai, because they are not healthy at all.
