COVID-19 numbers are rising and our frontliners need all the support that they can get.

Recently, the inmates at Alor Setar prison came together in song to show their gratitude towards our hardworking frontliners.

According to a report in New Straits Times, the tribute was especially directed to a group of frontliners who had completed rounds of COVID-19 screenings there recently.

A hero's goodbye

Taking to his Twitter page to acknowledge the effort, Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah shared a 45-second video of the inmates singing 'Doa Wira Negara' (National Heroes' Prayer) by Harry (Apek) for the medical team.

"(This is an) appreciation to the frontliners who had completed the screening and testing of the Tembok cluster in Alor Setar Prison.

"As the team took its leave, the members were accompanied by a song sang by inmates in a show of gratitude.

"Frontliners, you are the real heroes," he tweeted.

They truly are heroes.
