PTPTN Is Now Allowing Borrowers Who Face Loss Of Income To Defer Their Payments; Here's How To Apply
With the COVID-19 pandemic still wreaking havoc, some Malaysians need all the help they can get.
Thankfully, some big corporations are here to provide as much help as possible.
A little help from PTPTN
Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN) is allowing its borrowers to defer their payment if they are in a pinch.
Its chief executive, Ahmad Dasuki Abdul Majid, told Malay Mail that borrowers who are affected by a loss of income can defer their payments for up to three months.
No supporting documents would be required, Ahmad Dasuki said, and the payment deferment would start on the month the application is approved.
The deferment would start between the months of June and October.
"The approval will be informed via e-mail within three working days. The borrowers are reminded to update or ensure accurate contact details so that information on the deferment approval could reach them," he said in a statement quoted by the news portal.
How to apply
Applications for the loan repayment deferment can be made starting today (11 June) until 31 August.
If you, or you know a friend, who needs the help, head on over to this special PTPTN website and fill in the application form.
Like mentioned above, remember to update all your relevant information so that the good people at PTPTN can reach you within three working days.
Those of you who do not need the deferment can continue repaying your loan as usual.
