Remove Johor from Malaysia if You’re Unhappy With Us – TMJ
Johor Tengku Mahkota Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim or popularly known as TMJ, isn’t afraid of being vocal with his thoughts which is why his name frequently makes headlines every time he comes out with a statement. Recently, through a Facebook post via the Johor Southern Tigers' Facebook page, HRH Crown Prince of Johor blasted critics who were unsatisfied with the state.
TMJ listed down about nine reasons on why Johor should not be blamed for all of their dissatisfaction. Among the reasons ranged from being proud to be a Johorean since Johor was formed before Tanah Melayu was formed in 1885 to how Johoreans were accused of being obsessed with HRH Crown Prince of Johor. Basically his lengthy post was aimed to other states or other people who were ‘jealous’ of Johor. He also commented on how different the leadership in Johor is.
“Don't blame Johor If your leaders are not there with you... The difference between our leaders and yours is that our leaders were born to serve the people,” he was quoted as saying.
He then ended his statement by saying "Should any of you are uneasy with Johor Darul Ta'zim being in Malaysia, you can all march down to Putrajaya and propose to the Prime Minister to remove the State of Johor from Malaysia."
Most of his Facebook fans supported the idea and one of them even commented that if someone creates a declaration to separate Malaysia from Johor, he will sign it. Others on the other hand expressed their love and endless support for the royal family and Johor. However, not all are in agreement of his statement.
A Facebook user, Jamal Rafaie JJ commented that such statement may have a negative implication and cause a disharmony between other states and Johor.
This isn’t the first time HRH Crown Prince of Johor has spoken about Johor being a separate entity from Malaysia. He previously stated that Johor has the ‘power’ to leave Malaysia based on an agreement dated back to 1946.
