Ever remember drinking mineral water under the label ‘Meadows’?

The authorities in Singapore have recalled bottled drinking water under the label after some disturbing findings.

The reason?

The Malaysian product was found to have a common environmental bacterium found in faeces, soil and sewage!

Discovered during routine sampling

According to a report in Today Online quoting a statement from the Singapore Food Agency (SFA), the bacterium called Pseudomonas aeruginosa was found in the bottled water during a routine sampling of the product.

SFA said that if consumed, the bacteria could cause a range of infections but said that it could rarely lead to serious illness.

Consumers who purchased the product have been advised not to drink it.

For those who have already consumed the mineral water and are feeling unwell, the body has recommended that they seek medical advice.
