Another river near Kampung Baru Balakong has been found to be polluted.

According to a report by The Star, Selangor CID chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Fadzil Ahmat said that the complainant believed that the pollution could be sabotage.


A report on the pollution incident was lodged by an officer from the Department of Environment on 27 October.

Black oil spotted

"He claimed the pollution was detected near Jalan KB 1/10, Bandar Baru Balakong.

"The complainant went to the area to conduct checks and found black oil floating on the water surface from the waterways at the housing area flowing towards the river," he said.


He added that the police, together with officials from Indah Water, the National Water Services Commission and Selangor Water Management Authority were looking into the matter.

"Samples of the oil and water have been taken for investigation and prosecution purposes," he said.
