This Seafood Restaurant Owner Wants You To Eat His RM7,500 Grouper
Craving for some fish head noodles? Head over to Penang and take a bite out of this man's giant grouper.
He'll be happy you did.
Last week, a photo showing a man holding a massive grouper was widely circulated on social media. The man is 45-year-old Chew Kean Ghee, a seafood restaurant owner in Penang.
Chew made the headlines when he unselfishly forked out a jaw-dropping RM7,500 for the grouper, which tipped the scale at almost 150kg!
And he plans to share the giant fish with his customers, according to a report by The New Straits Times.

Chew told the daily that when the fish was put up on sale at an open tender recently, he couldn't resist splashing (geddit?) the cash because he wants his customers to be happy.“My customers will be more than happy to enjoy this rare treat. That is the reason I was willing to spend that much money just for a fish," he was quoted as saying.
Clearly, the dish won't come cheap considering he spent that amount of money on it, right? Well, not really.
“I want to satisfy my customers in the best way possible by serving them this fish for a price as low as RM17 per serving," he was further quoted as saying, adding that he spent close to four hours cleaning and cutting up the humongous fish.
Chew also told the NST that he plans to donate some of the profits he'll be making from the fish to a couple of primary schools in Penang.
However, Chew's prized possession pales in comparison to the biggest grouper ever caught:

The goliath grouper was caught on 20 May 1961 off the coast of Fernandina Beach, Florida. The fish came in at a whopping 308kg - which means that you can make a whole lot of fish balls with it!
