Selangor Sultan Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah has proved that he will always put the people first.

The ruler has just launched the largest private women's and children's specialist hospital in Malaysia, The Star Online reported.

Avisena Women's and Children's Specialist Hospital in Shah Alam has 133 beds and 52 specialists on-call to cater to the public.

Quoting Avisena Group president and CEO Datuk Dr Omar Abd Hamid, the news portal reported that the hospital project began about three-and-a-half years ago, and in the near future, they will be adding another 140 beds to the hospital to attract medical tourists.

Among the services provided are gynaecology, obstetrics, and paediatrics in almost all specialisations, Dr Omar told the news portal.

He added that the Marriot International Hotels had also agreed to build a four-star hotel called Fairfield by Marriot just beside the hospital and it is expected to be completed in four years.
