Seremban is all grown up and has been declared a city!

The declaration was made by the Yang di-Pertuan Besar Negri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir who also opened the Seremban City Council (MBS) Complex (Wisma Majlis Bandaraya Seremban) recently.

Expanding and upgrading.

Two local councils to work as one

His Royal Highness also declared that the Seremban Municipal Council (MPS) and the Nilai Municipal Council (MPN) be merged to the Seremban City Council effective Jan 1.

According to a report in Bernama, the state government had approved a proposal to merge MPS and MPN into one entity and upgrade it to MBS, on Nov 12, 2008.

The report quoted Negri Sembilan Mentri Besar, Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun as saying that with the formation of MBS, it was hoped that the Seremban city could handle the changes of the world without borders and maintain the beauty of a clean and green city.

Growing but still maintaining its charm.
He also hoped that the establishment of MBS would have a positive impact in stimulating the economy and the development of the communities by touching on various aspects and simultaneously upholding the policies planned by the federal and state government.
