A video showing a Singaporean driver involved in an altercation with Malaysian traffic police near the Woodlands Checkpoint has gone viral online.
According to a report, the incident is believed to have occurred shortly after midnight on 16 August. An eyewitness who was caught in traffic managed to capture the confrontation as it unfolded.
The eyewitness, Aeric, 40, said he was unsure what had sparked the altercation. However, he noted that the incident was not the cause of the traffic congestion, although it did result in some disruption.
In the video, the confrontation appeared to escalate when one of the police officers was seen throwing his motorcycle helmet at the driver.

The driver was later seen raising one leg while the officer held both of his hands. He was also observed pointing angrily at the officer before another police officer stepped in to de-escalate the situation.
However, the confrontation did not end there. The driver appeared to ignore the second officer and once again approached the same officer while pointing his finger at him. The officer was then seen pushing the driver's hand away.
Towards the end of the video, the driver was seen being escorted back to his vehicle.
At the time of writing, the cause of the altercation between the Singaporean driver and the police officer remains unclear.
Netizens criticise driver's behaviour
The video has since attracted significant attention on social media, with many users criticising the driver's behaviour.
Some also speculated about the consequences he might have faced had a similar incident occurred in Singapore.
