Our frontliners need all the help that they can get.

Understanding this, Malaysian songbird Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza recently announced that she would be setting up a humanitarian fund to help them.

According to Malay Mail, the fund named 'Dana Peduli, Kemanusiaan, Prihatin (PKP) Siti Nurhaliza' aims to raise an initial RM50,000 for the cause.

“The target amount will be increased and will continue as the Movement Control Order (MCO) period is extended, and various types of aid will be given out.

“We are confident we can all help fight against COVID-19 now," she said.

Divided into several categories

The singer said that the fund would be divided into three categories - Peduli (Care), Kemanusiaan (Humanity) and Prihatin (Concern).

Helping those in need.

Peduli will aim to provide the facilities and equipment for COVID-19 specific medical centres.

Kemanusiaan is directed at aiding those who have lost their income as well as those who have family members who were disabled or fighting a chronic illness.

Prihatin will be directed at providing aid to the needy and charities during the month of Ramadan and Syawal.

More info soon

More details on the initiative will be released during a live broadcast by Siti via her YouTube channel at 2.30pm on 19 April.

It is said that Siti will also be entertaining viewers and those who wished to donate would simply have to scan a QR code that appears on the screen.

Alternatively, you can also channel funds through kitafund.com.
