Some 1,000 Roadblocks To Be Set Up Nationwide, Efforts Focused In Selangor And KL
The police will be setting up as many as 1,000 roadblocks throughout the country especially in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor as there are still many vehicles on the road despite the total lockdown imposed.
This was confirmed by Home Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin.

"We already discussed this matter and decided that more roadblocks will be mounted nationwide, alongside increased monitoring starting today (June 4).
He said already 930 roadblocks were mounted under Ops Benteng nationwide.

"It could be more than 1,000 roadblocks mounted daily,” he said adding that the decision was made after discussions with Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani.
Meant to limit movement
"The increase in the number of roadblocks in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur is to limit the movement of vehicles.
"Besides that, some locations in Penang will also see an increase in the number of roadblocks, due to a large number of vehicles."
Around 70,000 policemen and agencies under the ministry are set to carry out the tasks throughout the period.
