Nasi lemak is Malaysia’s unofficial national dish and Akka’s Nasi Lemak, a stall run by Sangeetha, a 34-year-old hotel management graduate has gone viral recently for her tasty dishes. The humble roadside stall selling ayam masak merah, sambal kerang, and sambal sotong went viral after a short video was posted online and started attracting hundreds of customers each day.
Long lines could be seen forming leading up to the stall as customers of all races queued for up to seven hours for a chance to buy her nasi lemak. Despite opening at only 7 a.m, some customers were willing to wait from as early as 4 a.m. to taste her dishes.
However, an unpleasant scene broke out at her stall recently when she informed her customers that the nasi lemak was sold out, and that only side dishes were left. She was then harassed by a rude female customer who started shouting at her while she was attending to another customer. A video was posted by Twitter user @JackSingh01 who credited @HausofHilton for the explanation.
He mentioned that there was a misunderstanding that nasi lemak was still being sold, so the woman started to be angry at Sangeetha. She mentioned a name that Sangeetha was familiar with and left the stall.
Sangeetha then proceeded to call the person and told them what had happened. This caused the woman to come back and start shouting at her again.
Her teenage son, who was with her at the stall, was upset with the way that his mother was treated and started to defend her. He told her to watch her tone and started gesturing at her while his mother tried to calm him down.
Many Twitter users were quick to praise the boy for his actions:
Another said that the young boy looked cute defending his mother even as he appeared to be ready for a fistfight:
Another said that he will be a good man when he grows up:
Others slammed the woman, saying that if the nasi lemak was sold out, she should have just asked her mother to make some for her:
According to the customer’s TikTok account, the two then settled their misunderstandings.
