S'porean Netizen Calls M'sians Greedy for Not Sharing Petrol, Gets Roasted for ‘Kiasu’ Behaviour
Recently, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced a new fuel subsidy strategy for all Malaysian citizens.

This targeted initiative, aimed at helping Malaysians cope with rising costs, reduces the price of RON95 petrol to RM1.99 per litre, but only for those who verify their identity using MyKad.
“This is a significant reduction that involves high costs for the government. It's part of our effort to optimise national resources and reduce wastage. Foreigners and foreign vehicles will still need to pay the market price,” Anwar stated.
While many Malaysians celebrated the announcement, one Singaporean social media user took to X to express frustration, even accusing Malaysia of being selfish.

Unsurprisingly, the comment quickly garnered attention from many Malaysians, who promptly called out the individual for their rude statement.

In addition to the subsidised petrol, the Prime Minister also announced several other initiatives to support Malaysians, including:
  • A one-off RM100 payment for all Malaysians aged 18 and above
  • An extra public holiday on September 15, 2026
  • Maintaining existing toll rates for 10 highways
