With Hari Raya Aidilfitri fast approaching, collecting smaller notes to give for duit raya is becoming increasingly difficult. Fortunately, several banks have announced that they will be providing banknotes for their customers via selected automated teller machines (ATMs).

If you’re on the hunt for those coveted RM10, RM20, and RM50 banknotes, here are the banks and ATM locations to solve your duit raya needs.

1. Maybank

In an announcement on April 1, Maybank shared that, in conjunction with the Raya period, they will be offering recycled fit RM10 bank notes until 9 April 2024 at selected ATMs nationwide. Maybank also emphasised that recycled fit notes are offered in a bid “to promote sustainability and conserve resources”.

These specific ATMs will be labelled clearly for the convenience of their customers and are available at 72 locations nationwide, 18 of which are within the Klang Valley.

Similarly, CIMB Bank is providing its customers with new RM10 notes at selected ATMs from 4 to 10 April 2024. However, they are only available at branches in Johor, Sabah, and Sarawak.

This means that Klang Valley residents as well as those from other states would most likely still need to speak to the bank’s staff members over the counter to request for recycled fit notes.

3. Affin Bank

Affin Bank customers will be able to obtain RM10 and RM50 notes at selected ATMs or cash recycling machines (CRMs) nationwide from 3 to 10 April 2024.

However, note that the withdrawal limit for each customer per day is set at RM5,000 and is also subject to your card's withdrawal limit and the availability of notes in the machine.

4. Bank Islam

Customers of Bank Islam will be happy to know that the bank has been offering “good quality” RM10, RM20, RM50, and RM100 bank notes to customers for their duit raya needs since March 27.

But, do be aware that certain ATMs will only dispense specific notes (and not all four types of notes). For example, the ATM at Menara Bank Islam in KL only dispenses RM10 and RM50 notes, whereas the ATM at the Section 18 branch (Shah Alam, Selangor) only dispenses RM20 and RM100 notes.

As of now, only announcements from these four banks have been made but do keep an eye out for upcoming updates from other banks.
