There’s a huge difference between a body spray and a pepper spray.

Most of us know it.

However, one student in Florida got into trouble after mistakenly spraying pepper spray all over himself, thinking that it was a body spray.

Unfortunate incident

According to a report by Philippine Daily Inquirer, his act caused 41 students, who were attending a gym class, from the Highlands Middle School to be rushed to the hospital after a bout of coughing spree.

The gym, which reportedly had about 60 to 80 students during the incident, was evacuated.

Upon investigation, it was learnt that a student had brought the pepper spray to the school for personal use.

Another student reportedly took it from the owner’s belongings during the physical education class and sprayed it on himself, thinking that it was body spray.

Unfortunately for the boys, pepper spray is considered a prohibited item under the school's code of student conduct.

As a result, the student who brought the pepper spray to school will be dealt with “appropriate disciplinary consequences for bringing a prohibited item on campus".

His classmate who used the spray, meanwhile, will receive a juvenile civil citation.

We hope the other 41 students are alright.
