Surprise, Surprise: Most Malaysians Feel They're Not Getting The Internet Speed Promised By Telcos
Malaysians complain about many things, from the weather to the price of things and the lack of parking spots.
But one complaint that is always constant is the slow internet speed.
And it looks like a lot of Malaysians are unhappy about that.
Bernama reported that the result of a recent survey shows that Malaysians felt cheated by the promise of faster internet.
So many complaints

According to the report, the survey was conducted by the Communications and Multimedia Consumer Forum of Malaysia (CFM) during the Movement Control Order (MCO) to gauge how happy Malaysians are with their internet connection.
Spoiler alert: they are not happy at all.
Most of the respondents who participated in the survey are not satisfied with the internet speed promised by their telcos.
In fact, they shared a multitude of problems they had with their internet connection, from poor internet quality in an indoor setting to the lack of action or improvements made after a complaint is lodged.

Mohana also added that the CFM is currently working with the Malaysia Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to tighten up the provisions of the General Consumer Code (GCC) to ensure that consumer rights are protected.
What can you do in the meantime?
If you're suffering from slow internet speed (who isn't at this point?), the CFM encourages you to lodge an official complaint to your respective telcos and providing them with detailed information about the issues you're currently facing. If the telcos do nothing after you've lodged a complaint, you can always get in touch with the CFM via the integrated complaint portal with MCMC by clicking here.
