Last month, Malaysians were shocked to hear news of the LRT Kelana Jaya line collision, which left over 200 passengers injured with some even sent to the Intensive Care Unit.

But what’s even more shocking was former Prasarana Chairman Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman’s demeanour while answering questions from the press during the press conference (PC).

Besides his obnoxious, less empathic behaviour, he was also not wearing a facemask.

He only had a fancy face shield on, which prompted investigations against him for breaching COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Can kiss his money goodbye

The face mask he wore during his rounds in the tunnels apparently costs close to RM2,000.
According to The Star, the Pasir Salak MP will be fined RM1,500 for failing to wear a facemask during his press conference on the LRT collision.

Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Zainal Abdullah said the investigation papers were returned by the Attorney General's Chambers on Tuesday (June 8) with a decision to issue the RM1,500 compound notice.

"It was for committing an offence under Rule 17(1) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Regulations. This was due to his failure to wear a face mask during a press conference on the LRT mishap at the KLCC station," he said in a statement on Wednesday (June 9).

Tajuddin was questioned by police on May 27 for allegedly flouting the standard operating procedure (SOP) during a press conference recently.

Besides the former chairman’s famous last words during the PC, his fancy face shield attracted a lot of attention and after some researching, we found out that it’s sold for over RM200. You can read all about it here.
