Tealive Malaysia Stays Alive… For Now

Earlier in July, news broke that the Judge of the Court of Appeal has granted an injunction and allowed Chatime’s appeal against Tealive to stand, which meant that Tealive will have to pull down their shutters for good.

Fans of the franchise had mixed reactions because let’s be honest, Tealive and Chatime have similar menus, so as long both of them don’t close down and we can get our supply of bubble tea, we’re happy.

Following the court ruling, a lot of us were curious to see whether Tealive will be shutting down for good, but it’s been over a week since the news broke and it seems like they’re still operating.

Well apparently, the drama isn’t over yet for both of them as Tealive has released a statement saying that the Federal Court has granted its application for a stay of the Court of Appeal order dated 27 June 2018.

This means that it’s business as usual for Tealive as they wait for the results of their appeal by Loob Holdings.

No news on how long until the results of the appeal comes out, guess we’ll have to wait. Until then, the drama will keep on bubbling.
