“Thank You Menteri” – Netizens React To News Of CMCO In KL, Selangor, And Putrajaya
Recently, many of us felt that the possibility of another Movement Control Order (MCO) was inevitable especially since the number of COVID-19 cases has been spiking.
And sure enough, on 12 October, the government announced that a Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) will take place in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, and Putrajaya effective 12.01am on 14 October until 27 October.
CMCO was also announced for the whole of Sabah from 13 October to 26 October.
The news came after many areas in Selangor and KL were declared red zones by the government.

Some Malaysians were shocked and saddened by the announcement while others expected it to happen sooner or later.
There were also a handful of people who blamed the ministers who were involved with the Sabah state election for the spike in COVID-19 cases which eventually led to the CMCO.

Not everyone can afford to go through another CMCO as their livelihoods depends on daily salaries so we hope the government has devised plans to help those who are affected during this period.
Our fight against COVID-19 is definitely far from over so let’s stay at home, adhere to the SOPs set by the government, wear facemasks correctly if there is a need to go outside, practise social distancing, and frequently wash or sanitise our hands.
