Thanks For The Memories: ‘Tom & Jerry’ And ‘Popeye’ Director Dies
As decades go by, there are a few evergreen cartoons that stood the test of time and helped entertain generation after generation.
And among them were the rascal duo ‘Tom & Jerry’ and the mighty ‘Popeye’.
The titles may last for many more centuries to come but now it’s time to say goodbye and thank you to its director, Gene Deitch, as he recently passed away at the age of 95.
The Oscar-winning director passed away on 16 April at his apartment in Prague, Czech Republic, as reported by The Daily Mail.

A talented individual
Throughout his career, he has created a lot of other cartoon characters such as Sidney the Elephant, Gaston Le Crayon, Clint Clobber and Terr’ble Thompson.Gene, real name Eugene Merril Deitch, was considered as a legendary hero in the early animation industry.
