There's Going To Be A New Toll System Soon - And It'll Be Faster Than The SmartTAG!

Tired of getting stuck behind a driver who forgot to top up his Touch 'n Go card on the SmartTAG lane? Well, it's soon going to be a thing of the past.

The authorities are reportedly going to implement a new toll system which would be more efficient than even the SmartTAG.

Malaysian Highway Authority (MHA) director-general Datuk Ismail Md Salleh told Sin Chew Daily that the new cashless system will be using the super high-tech Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology.

This RFID technology is said to be a couple of times more advanced and efficient than the current payment system, according to Md Salleh.

With this new system, drivers would just need to stick a special tag on their windscreen (goodbye big, blocky devices!) and zoom through the toll gates without the need to slow down or stop completely!

This is perfect for those of you who refuse to slow down at toll gates.

Just like a piece of paper.
So, when is this system going to take effect?

Well, according to Md Salleh, the new system will be introduced some time in January 2018

The MHA is reportedly testing out the system now, so fingers crossed that they'll be able to roll it out soon.

Because, honestly, we're sick of getting stuck behind a driver who doesn't have sufficient funds on the SmartTag lane.
