The proposed routes and stops for the East Coast Rail Line have been unveiled and it is open to the public for feedback and suggestions. The sites for all the stations have also been mapped out and is available online.

It is scheduled for completion in 2024 and travellers by train can potentially get from the first stop up north at Wakaf Baru in Kelantan to ITT Gombak in Selangor in just four hours – something that takes 6 hours and 24 minutes to do by car, if we follow the coast line – and if you use Google Maps to route – and there's no jams... or accidents. Moving on.

The best part is, you can provide your own feedback

Don't like the route? Suggest something. Not close enough to your home? Let them know. Construction work will begin in July and the government wants your word on the matter. You have about three months to send in your ideas and you may do so on Malaysia Rail Link's website. You can also call their toll free number at 1-800-222-524 and email them at [email protected].

The final stop is ITT Gombak but there are plans to extend the rail to Port Klang in the future. Maybe suggest a way for us to get from KL Sentral to Kuala Terengganu and a boat straight to Redang in less than 6 hours.

Oh, while you're here, have you read about these Terengganu cafes? Bet you haven't.
