Tourism Malaysia’s Post Urging People To ‘Take A Singapoliday’ Warms Netizens’ Hearts
During these difficult times, rivals and competitors are uniting to stay strong.
It all started when Burger King UK recently tweeted a statement, asking people to support other fast food chains during the COVID-19 pandemic.
This simple act won praises on social media, so Tourism Malaysia took a cue and made a surprise post on its Facebook page.
“Just like Burger King never thought they’d be promoting a Big Mac, we too, never thought we’d be asking you to do this.
“We would never have imagined encouraging you to spend your holidays in Singapore but our friends un the tourism industry could use your support at the moment. While we dream of soaking under the sun in Pulau Redang, Sentosa is just as good for now.
“So, if you want to help, begin your #SingaporeRediscovers today,” read the post.
Their Singaporean counterparts, meanwhile, were quick to return the bromance, by commenting: “Thanks for the love, Tourism Malaysia. Thinking of you too – stay safe and keep well. (Written on the sandy shores of Sentosa while remembering the awesome times at Pulau Redang.)”
Tourism Malaysia's heartwarming post went viral, having been shared more than 2,000 times and flodded with heart warming comments from netizens of both countries.
The page has since updated the post with just emojis of the Malaysian and Singaporean flag:
